Kargil, August 25, 2024: District Program Officer (ICDS) Kargil, Nargis Banoo, along with CDPO Zanskar, Tashi Gurmayt, Senior Assistant ICDS Kargil, Supervisors, District Mission Coordinator, Gender Specialist DHEW Kargil, District Coordinator DPMU Kargil and Block Coordinator concluded a thorough three-day visit to Zanskar project on 21 August.
The visit covered key areas including the Aspirational Blocks of Karsha, Zangla, Padum, Testa, Eithcher and Lungnak region, extending to the last village of Zanskar Kargyak Village and Anganwadi Centres from Rangdum area to Taisuru block.
DPO and CDPO Zanskar also inaugurated the Creche Centre (Palna) under Mission Shakti at Zanskar. During the visit the team (Mission Poshan-2.0 and Mission Shakti) held intense training sessions and awareness campaigns regarding proper nutrition for children and lactating mothers at AWCs, different women safety and empowerment schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women helpline, One Stop Centre for women and did Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) registration among pregnant women and lactating mothers.
They also interacted with AWWs and explored their experiences, challenges and the impact of their work on community welfare. They also visited Anganwadi Centers, scrutinizing facilities resources and operational practices.
