Leh, Aug 25: In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility in remote regions, 111 RCC of 753 BRTF under Project HIMANK organized a comprehensive medical and dental camp at Chumathang High School on August 24, 2024. This initiative aligns with the Government’s Vibrant Village Programme, aimed at fostering the holistic development of villages along the northern borders.
The camp was a collaborative effort featuring a dedicated team of medical and dental specialists who conducted thorough health checkups for children and their parents. The focus was on identifying illnesses and providing immediate medical care. The team distributed essential medicines to both children and adults, ensuring that the community received crucial health support.
The event attracted a commendable turnout with 100 participants, including 70 students, along with their parents and school staff. Each student was provided with a health record card to facilitate ongoing health monitoring and ensure continued care.
In addition to medical examinations, the camp emphasized the importance of health education. The medical and dental team conducted informative health lectures and live demonstrations, covering topics such as proper handwashing techniques, correct tooth brushing methods, and other vital hygiene practices. These sessions aimed to enhance community awareness and empower individuals with the knowledge to maintain better health.
The camp not only addressed immediate healthcare needs but also contributed to the long-term well-being of the community by providing essential health education and resources. This initiative underscores the commitment of BRO and Project HIMANK to improving healthcare access and fostering sustainable health practices in remote and underserved areas.
