Udhampur 22 :-  Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai on Thursday chaired a meeting with officers and civil society members here in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex to discuss and finalise preparation for the Shree Krishna Janmashtami festival.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, IAS Probationer Swati Sheemar, Additional SP Sandeep Bhat, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan and other district officers alongside representatives of civil society.

The meeting held detailed discussions on different aspects of arrangements to ensure the smooth celebration of Shree Krishna Janmashtami. Key areas of focus included the availability of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, first aid services, fire safety, check on quality and pricing of eatables, and maintaining sanitation in the city.

The DC directed the concerned departments to ensure all the arrangements well in advance.

Executive Engineer, PHE was instructed to make adequate arrangements for adequate supply of drinking water supply throughout the district, while, the Executive Engineer PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival. Executive Engineer, PWD, was asked to ensure filling of potholes and expediting road repairs to facilitate smooth transportation. The Chief Medical Officer was asked to ensure the availability of medical facilities during the festival.

District Police was instructed to deploy adequate personnel at traffic congestion points and ensure effective traffic regulation in collaboration with the Traffic Police.
