Udhampur :-  Department of Information and Public Relation Udhampur Centre today convened a meeting with local cable operators to sensitize them about the Election Commission of India  guidelines for Electronic & print media for the General Assembly Elections 2024  in Ut of Jammu and Kashmir.

District Information Officer Rajinder Kumar Digra underscored the importance of strict adherence to ECI guidelines, particularly concerning the pre-certification of advertisements. He informed the cable operators that obtaining pre-certification from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committees is a mandatory requirement before airing any political advertisements. “This measure is crucial to ensure that the content broadcasted is in compliance with ECI regulations and upholds the integrity of level playing electoral process for one and all” he added.

The DIO sought cooperation of the cable operators in facilitating free and fair assembly election. He emphasized the significant role that media plays in maintaining a fair and transparent election process and urged the operators to meticulously follow ECI guidelines and to avoid any violation.
