Leh :- A delegation from Zanskar led by State President, BJP, Shri Phuntsog Stanzin, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Secretary, PDD, Shri Vikram Malik, IAS, was also in the meeting.
Shri Stanzin apprised the HLG of the demand raised by residents from Shagar Yokma in Zanskar regarding the issues faced by the people of Shagar Yokma area in Zanskar due to the installation/erection of transmission towers for the Drass-Zanskar Transmission Line on their ancestral agricultural land instead of the available barren list and the request to relocate the installation/erection of transmission towers on alternative available land.
Shri Stanzin also raised several other demands, viz. construction of a circular road at Phey village in Zanskar; the need to expedite the ongoing 4G mobile saturation project by BSNL in Zanskar sub-division; the need to expedite the construction of multipurpose community hall at Skagam, Atting, Rantaksha, Tungri (Thang Mohalla), etc.
The HLG asked Secretary, PDD, Shri Vikram Malik, IAS, to visit the site and explore possible relocation of the site for the erection/installation of transmission towers for the transmission line. He also asked Shri Stanzin to meet Under Secretary, Shri Mohit Sharma, JKAS, to discuss the 4G saturation project issue and construction of community multipurpose hall with him. He also asked Secretary, PWD, to look into the issue of the construction of a circular road at Phey.
A delegation from Drass and Kargil led by President, BJP Unit, Kargil, Shri Mohd Ali Chandan, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. Secretary, Tourism and Culture/PDD, Shri Vikram Malik, IAS, was also in the meeting.
Shri Chandan highlighted the need for early initiation and consideration of key development projects in Kargil and Drass, including the proposed Gondola project for Drass; Tulip Harden from Labour Sarai at Drass to Mamel; the construction of National Highway along the riverside from Lakthang to Biru Khar; the need to expedite strategic tunnel connectivity projects at Namkila, Fotu-La, Khardong-La and Hambuting-La; the revival of the Border Area Development Project scheme; the need to address the issue of delay in release of honorarium to Samagra Shiksha teachers; Nallah training for flood-prone areas; posting of Head Of Departments (HODs) to Kargil; the need to address the issue of disparity in fixed medical allowance for pensioners; initiation of solar-lift irrigation project at Tingdo; upgradation of Govt Middle School at Faroona to Govt High School and construction of cricket ground at Sharjah Akchamal, etc.
The HLG asked Shri Chandan to meet the Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS, and discuss the issues with him for early redressal.
