Leh :- A multi-departmental team comprising members from Revenue, R&B, PHE, I&FC, and RDD visited Lingshed to assess the damage caused by recent flash floods on July 30.
It was informed that on July 29, between 2:30 and 3:00 pm, heavy rainfall occurred in Lingshed, Khaltse, leading to flash floods from five Nallahs. This resulted in damage to irrigation channels, fields, gardens, trees, roads, link roads, and both residential and non-residential buildings. The flash floods also disrupted essential services, including drinking water, electricity, and irrigation channels.
Authorities have provided necessary instructions to all departments to ensure the temporary restoration of essential services. The main road up to Gompa was cleared on the same day.
Further, a detailed damage report, along with relief measures, will be submitted within three days.
