Kargil:- Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today visited District Hospital Kargil and held a meeting with doctors and paramedical staff.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil, Consultants, Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons, Supervisory Staff and Paramedical Staff of hospital besides other concerned officials.
CEC Dr Jaffer hailed the efforts of doctors and paramedical staff for their persistent efforts for smooth functioning of the hospital.
He said this noble profession has many challenges in day to day life. The CEC said as front-line service providers, it is their moral to serve people with sincerity and honesty.
CEC Kargil also took review of infrastructural developmental works being executed in the district hospital.
Dr. Jaffer directed the CMO and the MS to start the construction work of the additional block as per the design approved by UT Administration. He also directed the CMO Kargil to judiciously use the available land. He stressed the need to start vertical construction of new buildings due to the scarcity of land for construction works.
The CEC stressed doctors to be punctual and regular in performing their duties. He further directed doctors and paramedical staff to be on time and OPD should start before 10:15 a.m. the CEC also said that patients from the peripheries reache the district hospital before the OPD starts and such patients should not suffer at any cost.
CEC Kargil directed Medical Superintendent that the OPD ticket counter should be open before 9.30 a.m. to avoid long queues. He also said that the peak hours of patients is between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. adding that the peak hours should be handled without any hindrance and back up staff should also be present during this period.
The CEC Kargil also said that additional staff should remain present after 4 p.m. in casualty section as well so that emergency cases are handled and attended by doctors properly.
Meanwhile, the CEC expressed satisfaction with the positive review the hospital received during the recent visit from a team of doctors from AIIMS and other super specialist teams.
He stated that there is always room for improvement. The CEC urged doctors, paramedical staff, and other personnel to work in close coordination to provide the best services, particularly to the marginalized sections of society.
