Kargil 27 :-  Forest Division Kargil today organized “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive aimed for environmental conservation.

The event was graced by the presence of Mohd Ali, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Kargil, who was the chief guest. The program commenced with a pledge ceremony, during which participants vowed to protect and preserve the environment.

Dr Amitab, Principal of (PM Shri) Jawahar Navodiya Vidyalaya Kargil was also present and urged students to consider the environmental impact of their actions.

He lauded the Forest Department for organizing the program planting for mother “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” at (PM Shri) Jawahar Navodiya Vidyalaya Kargil in making this event possible.

The students presented speeches on the role of plantation in environmental protection and highlighted how planting trees can significantly contribute to a sustainable environment.

Mohd Ali DFO Kargil emphasized the primary objective of the plantation drive and spoke on the fragility of Ladakh’s environment. He expressed gratitude to all participants for making the event successful.

“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive marks a significant step towards fostering environmental awareness and action in Drass. The collaboration between the Department of Forest and (PM Shri) Jawahar Navodiya Vidyalaya Kargil underscores the importance of community involvement in environmental conservation efforts.

During the drive 30 different species of poly bag plant were planted by the students. A painting competition was also organized in which 50 students participated.
