Ganderbal – July 24, Residents of Tullamulla area in Ganderbal today staged a protest during the ongoing camp organized under the Amnesty Scheme for domestic consumers, overseen by the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of KPDCL.

The locals, frustrated by what they describe as arbitrary increases in their monthly electricity bills, blocked the main road of Tullamulla. The majority of these residents come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are struggling to afford the heightened electricity charges.

Protesters voiced their demands, urging the department to reconsider and revise the monthly electricity charges to a level that the local populace can reasonably afford.

In response to the protest, the Station House Officer (SHO) Kheerbhawani, Afaq Ahmad intervened and after considerable effort, successfully cleared the road, restoring normalcy to the area.
