Leh, July 09: Ladakh Environment and Health Organization (LEHO) organized a program at Likir wherein agricultural equipments and black polythene were distributed to all participating homestay owners.

These resources are intended to enhance the vegetable production and conserve water in their kitchen gardens.

LEHO, committed to environmental sustainability and community development, has established 17 eco-friendly homestays in Likir village. This initiative aims to boost income generation for the local community, revitalize agriculture, and protect the environment.

Dr. Mohammed Deen, the founder of LEHO, highlighted the importance of homestay owners offering guests food grown in their own gardens. “This approach not only increases income but also contributes to the revitalization of agriculture and the protection of the environment,” he said.

Pertinently, LEHO has been organizing training programs for homestay owners across Ladakh UT to sensitize them on use of environment friendly practices. And, also helping them with free of cost material to realize the motto of sustainable eco-tourism in environment sensitive region of Ladakh UT.
