Kargl, July 03: After completing their 40-day Haj pilgrimage, 335 pilgrims from the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh returned safely to Srinagar International Airport. The group comprised 270 pilgrims from Kargil and 65 from Leh.

Mohd Ali Majaz, Chairman of the Haj Committee of Ladakh, was present at the airport to warmly welcome the returning pilgrims. In his address to the media, Majaz expressed his deep gratitude to the Government of India, the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig. DR B.D. Mishra, and the UT Administration, along with the district administrations, for their unwavering support and assistance throughout the pilgrimage. He also commended the efforts of all those involved in ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims during their spiritual journey.

However, the return was marked by a note of sorrow as Majaz shared the unfortunate news of one pilgrim from Leh passing away during the pilgrimage. He expressed his heartfelt condolences, acknowledging that the deceased pilgrim has now gone to their heavenly abode.

One of the returning pilgrims, in a heartfelt conversation with the media, extended profound thanks to the Haj Committee of Ladakh and the Government of India for providing exceptional facilities and support throughout the pilgrimage. The successful return of the pilgrims marks the completion of a significant spiritual journey, with the community and loved ones welcoming them back with warmth and gratitude.

The return of the pilgrims highlights the coordinated efforts and comprehensive support provided by various government bodies and local administrations, ensuring a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience for the devotees from Ladakh.
