Leh, July 03: In a significant event aimed at fostering youth engagement and community development, GOC 3 Infantry Division, Major General Madanraj Pande SM, VSM, interacted with the NCC Cadets of 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC at Kharu. The interaction took place during the Vibrant Village Program, an initiative led by the NCC Cadets.

Accompanied by Mrs. Swati Pande and other officers, Major General Pande was briefed on the activities conducted by the NCC Cadets at Nyoma, Hanle, and Karzok. The program, running from June 26 to July 5, 2024, involved 229 cadets, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), and Permanent Instructors (PI) staff of 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC.

Major General Pande lauded the cadets’ efforts and the unit’s dedication, highlighting their significant contributions to social welfare and awareness in these remote villages. During the event, he distributed prizes to outstanding cadets, recognizing their exemplary participation and achievements.

Addressing the cadets, Major General Pande emphasized the importance of their role in motivating the youth to join the mainstream, whether through the NCC, armed forces, or as responsible citizens. He encouraged them to continue their excellent work, underscoring the impact of their initiatives on community development and national integration.

Mrs. Swati Pande also engaged with the cadets, particularly appreciating the contributions of girl cadets. She commended their efforts in societal contributions, reflecting the growing role of women in community leadership and empowerment.

The Vibrant Village Program, envisioned by the Honorable Prime Minister, aims to invigorate rural areas through active youth participation. The cadets of 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC undertook various social welfare activities and awareness programs, setting a personal example to inspire the local youth to join the NCC, armed forces, or contribute positively to society.

This program not only highlights the dedication of the cadets but also reinforces the vision of a connected and vibrant rural India, driven by motivated and responsible young citizens.
