Leh, June 26: In an initiative aimed at enhancing the skills of officials from various Central and State Government Departments, Academic Institutions, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), the National Productivity Council (NPC), a national-level organization under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, successfully conducted a Residential Training Program on “Project Management & Financial Management.” The program was held from June 17-21, 2024, in Leh, Ladakh, and saw the participation of 30 officials from diverse organizations.
Shri Rajesh Sund, Director (Economic Services) at NPC, who served as the program coordinator and faculty for Financial Management, emphasized that the training was designed to provide participants with comprehensive insights into project planning, implementation, team dynamics, and roles and responsibilities. The program aimed to equip attendees with the necessary knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to effectively manage project activities and meet project requirements. Additionally, sessions focused on financial decision-making, investment estimation, project direction, and team management. The training utilized qualitative and quantitative tools to help participants identify key financial risks, apply valuation techniques, and develop unique strategies for setting and achieving financial targets.
The training program employed a variety of learning methodologies, including short presentations with Q&A opportunities, practical exercises, case studies, and group discussions. These methods were designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills while allowing them to share their experiences and opinions with one another.
Participants expressed high appreciation for the quality of the course material, presentations, and technical sessions. They showed particular enthusiasm for topics such as Project Planning, Implementation & Team Performance, Roles & Responsibilities, and different approaches to Financial Decision Making & Financial Risk Management.
On the final day of the training program, participants engaged in interactive discussions about their learning outcomes and how they planned to implement their newfound knowledge in their respective departments. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates and group photographs to all participants, marking the successful completion of the training.
The NPC’s Residential Training Program on Project Management & Financial Management was a valuable opportunity for participants to upgrade their skills and enhance their professional capabilities, contributing to improved project and financial management across various sectors.
