Leh: The Pulse Polio Immunization campaign in Leh District was organised at SNM Hospital on March 3. Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk, and Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve administered polio drops to a 2-hour-old baby and a 2-day-old baby respectively.
This was followed by flagging off the mobile teams at SNM Hospital to ensure comprehensive coverage across various parts of the district.
Supervisors conducted comprehensive inspections at polio booth centers to ensure efficient vaccination and seamless program implementation, targeting 8755 children. Remarkably, they immunized 8998 children, surpassing the target and achieving a success rate of 102%.
In continuation of this important campaign, door-to-door administration of polio drops to the left-out under 5 children will be carried out on March 4 and 5 by the Health Care Workers (HCWs) of the Leh District.
Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) Ladakh, Designated Institutional Official (DIO) Leh and District Health Officer (DHO) Leh, along with concerned officers and officials of the Medical Department Leh were also present.
