Leh: The Department of Information and Public Relations Culture Wing organised “Shesrig-Lasda”, a day-long cultural workshop for the Media fraternity and the staffs of DIPR Leh today.

The Hon’ble Executive Councillor for Art & Culture, LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Chosphel graced the occasion as the chief guest, and the Commissioner/Secretary Information, Padma Angmo as a guest of honor. Other esteemed guests included AD Information Leh, Dr. Tundup Namgail; Dy Secretary Culture Academy Leh, Tsewang Paljor and several experts in the field of Art & Culture. Media professionals from Leh and DIPR officials participated in the day-long workshop.

In his address, EC Chosphel commended the Information Department Leh for organizing such innovative workshops, emphasizing the importance of preserving Ladakh’s precious cultures. He highlighted the richness of Ladakh’s traditions and initiatives undertaken by LAHDC Leh to support the local arts, culture, and literature. He assured continued support from the Hill Council in promoting and preserving Ladakh’s age-old cultural heritage.

Comm/Secy Padma Angmo emphasised the universal recognition of the importance of one’s culture and traditions, noting the increasing awareness in Ladakh. She outlined the department’s vision to encourage and preserve Ladakh’s unique cultural heritage across various platforms.

During the workshop, experts underscored the need to preserve Ladakh’s ancient cultural heritage from the grassroots level. They shared anecdotes and insights into various cultural and traditional aspects of Ladakh, emphasising their significance for future generations in continuing the legacy of their predecessors.
