LEH: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Kailash Chaudhary on Monday attended the Rozgar Mela in Leh and distributed appointment letters to various candidates, here.
Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was also present in the event, held at ITBP Hall, Leh.
Union Minister Kailash Chaudhary congratulated the Union Territory of Ladakh for its rapid progress across sectors, even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address was also broadcast live as he extended congratulations to the newly selected candidates.
Speaking on the occasion, the MP Namgyal applauded Modi Sarkar’s job creation success.
“Ladakh has secured more than 5500 government jobs post UT in civil administration only, a major leap from the previous 2800 in ten years in J&K,” he said.
Today’s Rozgar Mela was held at 47 locations across the country.
The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments and State Governments/UTs supporting this initiative, while the new recruits will be joining the Government in various Ministries/Departments viz. Department of Revenue, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Higher Education, Department of Atomic Energy, Ministry of Defence, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Ministry of Railways in various positions.
This was the last Rozgar Mela of the present Government as Model Code of Conduct is likely to be imposed in first week of March followed by the Parliamentary elections in April-May.
Earlier on Sunday, Chaudhary accompanied by Namgyal visited Stakna at Regional Research Station- ICAR Centre, Central Arif Zon Research Institute for a Farmers- Scientist Interaction session.
They were joined by Stanzin Chosphel Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh, Micheal D’Souza IAS, Secretary UT Ladakh, DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeva IAS, and other officers and concerned people.
On the Occasion, the Minister encouraged the farmers of Ladakh to develop agriculture sectors.
During that session, MP JTN expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for upgrading the agriculture pattern in Ladakh, where products have now been up to international level.
