Leh, Feb 11: Winter alternative camp for the students of Shachukul village concluded today. Executive Councillor for RDD, LAHDC Leh Tashi Namgyal Yakzee was the chief guest, whereas Nominated Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Ven Konchok Tsepel was the guest of honor at the closing ceremony.
The winter camp was successfully organised with the collective initiative from the Nambardar, VEC, and Youth Association of Shachukul and was supported by the constituency Councillor.
Several sessions were conducted on students’ academic lessons, basics of Bhoti language, Cultural activities, ice skating, and various co-curricular learnings such as an introspection program, sports activities, meditation, confidence-building activities, etc.
In his address, EC Yakzee lauded the efforts of the organisers in successfully conducting these comprehensive camps during winter. He highlighted the need for enhancing skills apart from school academics and also stressed the need for the preservation of own language. He also assured continuous assistance from the Hill Council, Leh towards such good initiatives. He stated that the students’ overall performances reflected the quality of education provided to them during the winter camp which is appreciable.
Similarly Ven. Konchok Tsepel also spoke on the occasion he appreciated the initiative of Youth and villagers for organising such a fruitful winter camp and youths need to enhance their skills along with academics.
