DPS Leh yet again exhibits brilliance at Khelo India -2024

Leh, Feb 07: The Year 2024 has started with a string of laurels for all Dipsites. Till now, Delhi Public School, Leh was celebrating the success of our young and energetic students but the other day turned out to be a day for a bigger celebration when two of the DPS faculty members turned out to be the mighty representatives at Khelo India-2024.

The first Women Khelo India Ice-hockey match was held at NDS Stadium, Leh where Ms. Kunzes Angmo and Ms. Rinchen Dolma, the able faculty members and Edzes Angmo, one of the students of class X got a golden opportunity to represent DPS, Leh. This tournament was organised between 02.02.2024 to 06.02.2024 where these three represented UT Ladakh and won silver medals.

Another feat was achieved at 11th National Ice Hockey Championship-2024 for women’s category held at Kaza, Himachal Pradesh from 19-25 Jan 2024. This event was organized in joint auspices of the Ice Hockey Association of India, Ice Hockey of Lahaul Spiti and Spiti Administration where the team of UT Ladakh stood second and secured Silver Medal. Edzes Angmo, a student of Class X of DPS, Leh was also one of the proud players for this winning team.

Last but not the least, the first Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League was held by Royal Enfield in collaboration with UT Ladakh and Ice Hockey Association of Ladakh from 03.01.2024 to 13.01.2024 at NDS Stadium in Leh, where again Ms. Kunzes Angmo, Skating Instructor and Ms. Rinchen Dolma, Physical Education teacher along with Edzes Angmo, a student from Class X of DPS, Leh represented (Maryul Spamo) and won Gold Medal along with a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

Major General (Retired) Mohinder Kumar Sagoch, Director, DPS Leh congratulated the trio for this big feat and further said that it is a matter of pride for our school that we have got such able staff members under whose guidance, the future Dipsites will shine the brightest. Ms. Priyam Shukla, Principal, DPS Leh congratulated these three achievers and hoped that DPS, Leh will continue striving towards excellence in all spheres of life, be it education, sports or co-curricular activities.
