Leh, Feb 03: The Director, Social and Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh organised an extensive orientation-cum-training programme for the newly recruited Social Workers of the Social and Tribal Welfare Department, Leh under LAHD-DSSRB.
To apprise about the role and responsibilities, functioning and the mandate of the department, the newly appointed Social Workers were briefed by the Director, Social and Tribal Welfare Officer, UT Ladakh; District Social Welfare Officer, Leh; Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Leh; Child Development Project Officer, Leh and Kharu and Supervisor ICDS, Khaltse.
To acquire first-hand knowledge, the Social Workers visited the District Child Protection Unit, Leh at Ibex Colony where they were briefed in-depth about the working of Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board Committee, Child Helpline, Open Shelter, Child Observation Home, Nari Shakti Kendra and Child Care Institutions.
Further, the newly appointed recruits also visited Mahabodhi Old Age Home, PAGIR and Help Age India Old Age Home.
A debriefing session with the Secretary, Social and Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh, Padma Angmo was also held as a part of the orientation programme.
