Leh, Feb 03: The Sheep Husbandry Department Khaltse, organised an awareness camp regarding livestock revival at Fotolalok village on February 2.
Councillor Lamayuru Constituency, Dr. Murup Dorjay was chief guest on the occasion. He elaborated to the villagers about the importance of sheep and goat rearing for organic farming and sustainable development.
Similarly, District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO) Leh, Dr. Tsewang Murup informed the villagers, about various programs to be rolled out in 2024-25 for livestock management at the village level and pilot projects to be carried out in selected villages for livestock revival for organic development and scientific intervention to be introduced in these pilot villages.
Also, Block Sheep Husbandry Officer Khaltse, Dr. Tsewang Dolma gave scheme detail of the department ways of livestock rearing, management and different schemes of department and their benefits to farmers.
Officials from Sheep Husbandry Department Khaltse and farmers from village were also present during the camp.
At the end, the Councillor also distributed incentives to the beneficiaries.
