Leh, Feb 01: Dorjey Angchuk, State Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party Ladakh (BJP) today extended heartfelt congratulations to the Hon’ble Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, on her presenting the historic 6th Budget of the nation.
Dorjey in a statement issued said that the Budget for the fiscal year 2025, crafted under the visionary leadership of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, projects a fiscal deficit of 5.1% of the GDP, reflecting prudent economic management and a commitment to sustainable growth.
He said that the key Highlights of the Budget included Tourism and Infrastructure Development as the Finance Minister emphasized the aspirations of the middle class to travel and explore, thus encouraging the states to undertake comprehensive development of iconic tourist centers and market them globally.
He said that the Budget is aimed to provide a boost to the Aviation Industry as the Indian carriers proactively placed orders for over 1,000 new aircraft, signaling confidence in the sector’s growth.
BJP Ladakh vice president also welcomed the announcement of Railway Corridors that include three major railway corridors, including Port Connectivity Corridor, Energy, Mineral and Cement Corridor, and High Traffic Density Corridor.

Other Key highlights of the Budget include: Housing Support Scheme: Government to launch a scheme to assist those living in rented houses, slums, chawls, or unauthorized colonies.
Economic Policies and Amrit Kaal Strategy: The government commits to economic policies fostering sustained growth, guided by principles of Reform, Perform, and Transform.
GST and Financial Sector Strengthening: GST lauded for enabling “one nation, one market, one tax.” Strengthening of the finance sector contributes to increased efficiency.
Women Empowerment and Naari Shakti: Triple talaq made illegal, reservation for women in LS and State Assemblies, and housing under Awas Yojana for rural women. 34 crore Mudra Yojana loans extended to women entrepreneurs.
Social Welfare and Sabka Saath: The pursuit of Sabka Saath reflects the government’s commitment to assist 25 crore people in escaping multidimensional poverty in the last 10 years.
