Leh, Jan 31: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal undertook an extensive visit to the various locations hosting the 4th Edition of the Khelo India Winter Games 2024.
The inspection aimed at ensuring the seamless execution of the mega sporting event at the Ice Hockey Rink at NDS Ground, the Ice Rink at Gophugs, and the Ice Rink at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Leh.
The Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal was keen on ensuring that the infrastructure, facilities, and arrangements met the highest standards, aligning with the vision of promoting sports and healthy competition in the Union Territory of Ladakh. Dr Pawan Kotwal expressed satisfaction with the preparedness and commitment displayed by the organizing committee, and all stakeholders involved in making the Khelo India Winter Games a resounding success. He emphasized the pivotal role such events play in nurturing, and fostering a culture of sportsmanship, and showcasing Ladakh as a premier sporting destination.
The Advisor also lauded the collaborative spirit between the administration, law enforcement agencies, and the sports and tourism departments, emphasizing that such initiatives contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the region. The collective effort of all departments involved in the event was evident, reflecting the dedication towards hosting a world-class sporting spectacle, he added.
The 4th Edition of the Khelo India Winter Games is poised to elevate Ladakh’s status as a hub for winter sports and adventure tourism, attracting participants and spectators from across the nation.
