EC Zakir Hussain inspects day winter classes in schools in Kargil

Kargil, Jan 18: Executive Councillor, Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain today toured Kargil block to inspect the functioning of day winter classes at different High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools.
Councillor Chuliskambo Constituency, Altaf Husain, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Zonal Education Officer Kargil and concerned officers accompanied the EC during the tour.
During the tour, the EC inspected the day winter classes of Govt. HS Kaksar and Govt. HSS Chanigound and Govt. HS Badgam wherein he interacted with students and staff members about the functioning of the classes and facilities.
At Govt. HS Kaksar, the Headmaster informed that construction of the new building has been sanctioned as per CBSE pattern. The EC directed the Headmaster to approach the Revenue Department for allotment of state land for the construction of newly sanctioned building immediately.
At Govt. HS Chanigound, the Principal informed that the institution has a shortage of accommodation and requested to direct the concerned department to start and complete the new building presently under construction. The EC assured that the matter will be taken up with the Executive Engineer, R&B Division 2nd, Kargil.
At Govt. HS Badgam, it was informed that a total 41 students are enrolled in 10th class old batch. The headmaster requested for allotment of teachers and masters as the institution is understaffed.
The VEC Members of Govt. MS Khunda apprised the EC that total enrolment of the institution is 80 plus and only 4 teachers are working in the institution and requested to provide more teachers for the institution. The EC directed the CEO and ZEO Kargil to look into the matter and resolve the grievances of the VEC at the earliest.
The EC also enquired about the conduct of the pre-board examination and advised the students to give their best effort to achieve 100 percent result in the coming CBSE examination.
