J&K tableau likely to ‘give a miss’ at Kartavyapath R-Day Parade till 2026

Jammu, Jan 10: The tableau of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to ‘give a miss’ at the Republic Day parade at the Kartavya Path till the year 2026.
Sources in the administration said that the government has framed a panel for the tableau of all the states and union territories.
“The tableau of Jammu and Kashmir will not be displayed till during the Republic Day parade at Kartavya path (Rajpath),” sources said, adding that this is the first time that Jammu and Kashmir will not get a chance to showcase itself for three consecutive years.
Every year in the Republic Day celebrations at the Rajpath, different tableau from across the country displays military strength, rich cultural diversity and socio-economic progress and Jammu and Kashmir always remained a center of attraction, sources said adding, “but, the tableau of Jammu and Kashmir will not be seen in the Republic Day celebrations till 2026 as while formulating the policy, the government has constituted a panel to ensure that all the states get a chance to showcase their tableau, in which a statewise and UT wise calendar has been chalked out according to which, Jammu and Kashmir will get a chance to show its talent only after the year 2026.”
This is the first time that Jammu and Kashmir will not get a chance to showcase itself for so many years, they said and added, “even before this, in the year 2021, Jammu and Kashmir did not get a chance to present its tableau but in its place, a tableau of Ladakh was showcased.”
“Ever since Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territory, efforts were made to give equal opportunities to Ladakh as well, due to which there was apprehension after becoming a Union Territory whether Jammu and Kashmir would get a chance this year or not but it has been finally decided that all the states and union territories will get equal opportunities, the picture of Jammu and Kashmir will be visible only after 2026,” sources said.
They said that tableaux of all the states and union territories will be showcased and every year only between 12 to 15 tableaux are presented.
Notably, the tableau of Jammu and Kashmir secured first positions in the years 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002.
