EC Zakir Hussain inspects winter residential teaching hostel facilities

Kargil, Jan 08: Executive Councillor, School Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain, accompanied by Chief Education Officer, Kargil, inspected the winter residential remedial teaching hostel facilities during nighttime on Sunday.
He inspected Government Degree College, Kargil, where residential hostel facilities have been provided for students from Government HSS Barsoo. Currently, 61 students, including 21 girls, are residing in the hostel.
The EC also visited Government HS Choskore where residential hostel facilities have been arranged in a private residential building at Kurbathang, where 20 students including 6 girl students are residing in the hostel.
EC Zakir additionally toured Government Boys HSS Baroo, where 60 students are accommodated in the hostel. Furthermore, he visited Government HS Minjee, where 43 students, including 27 girls, are currently residing in the hostel.
The students in all the hostels are gearing up for their pre-board examinations. During his visit, the Executive Councillor inquired about the facilities available to the students, which included heating arrangements, the menu, remedial teaching, and the attendance of teaching faculty, particularly during night hours.
The Warden of Government HSS Barsoo and Government HS Choskore requested for providing sufficient water and power backup for the hostel of HS Choskore.
The EC assured that the water issue would be taken up with the PHE Department and also directed the CEO Kargil to provide a genset for HS Choskore for power backup.
