Kargil, Jan 06: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a meeting to discuss the arrangements for commencing of AN-32 Courier Service at Council Secretariat.
Executive Councilor, RD&PRD and Information, Er. Punchok Tashi, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-In Wani, Chief Coordinator, AN-32, Amir Ali (joined virtually), Commanding Officer IAF, besides concerned officers of various concerned departments were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, the CEC said the courier service will possibly commence between 15-20 January 2023 first from Kargil to Jammu and then Kargil to Srinagar.
CEC Dr Jaffer thanked the Indian Air Force for their cooperation time and again in facilitating civil courier service. He advised all concerned departments to extend their support in facilitating the passengers and hassle-free continuation of AN 32 Courier Service. The CEC said that transparency must be adhered to and emergency situations should be prioritised.
During the meeting, ADC Wani briefed that all major preparations pertaining to operation of AN-32 courier have been completed and LO’s and ALO’s have been placed at Jammu and Srinagar.
Chief Coordinator AN 32 Courier Service, Amir Ali assured for smooth conduct of the courier service and requested to increase the number of ALO’s for Srinagar and Jammu. He also requested that a helpline desk should be created at Jammu and Srinagar.
During the meeting, the concerned officers of the IAF and Police Department also shared their opinions and suggestions.
