New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Taking a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for targeting former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday quipped Shah doesn’t ‘know history’ and ‘keeps rewriting’ it.
Responding to a media query here, Rahul Gandhi said such matters were being raised to “completely distract (the public)” from the basic issue of caste census.
“The real issue is about caste census. But these people (BJP) do not want to discuss this issue,” said Gandhi.
“We will raise the issue of caste census and give the poor their rights,” he added.
“Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ji gave his life for India, remained in jail for years,” Gandhi said.
