Leh, Dec 10:
A delegation from the Lecturer Forum Ladakh led by its President Shri Tsering Tundup called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Director School Education, Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan and Deputy Secretary, Education Department, Smt Sumaira Shafi were present in the meeting.
Shri Tundup apprised the HLG that the In Charge Lecturers working in School Education Department were promoted in 2016 but have not been confirmed in their positions to date. He requested the HLG to intervene and resolve the issue.
The HLG directed Director School Education, Ladakh Shri Tsering Paldan to prepare the list of such cases and take up the matter with the concerned department in Jammu & Kashmir at the earliest.
A delegation of candidates who have qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) called on the HLG at LG Secretariat.
Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh/ Chairman LAHD-SSRB, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS; Director School Education, Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan and Deputy Secretary, Education Department, Smt Sumaira Shafi were present in the meeting.
They apprised the HLG that they had qualified for the CTET examination in August 2023 and requested to be made eligible for the teacher posts advertised by the Leh Autonomous Hill Development Council Subordinate Services Recruitment Board. They also requested for an extension of the online application deadline.
Deputy Commissioner/ Chairman LAHD-SSRB, Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhdeve informed about the recruitment procedures for teachers.
The HLG directed DC / Chairman, LAHD-SSRB, Leh to look into the matter.
A delegation of PhD holders in Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary Science called on the HLG at LG Secretariat.
Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof SK Mehta; Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS and Secretary, Agriculture, Shri Micheal D Souza, IAS were present in the meeting. They apprised the HLG about their concerns and grievances regarding the delay in apportionment of posts and recruitment processes for six units of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir in Ladakh. They informed that most of the posts were vacant in Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) in Ladakh and requested an early transfer of SKUAST units and KVKs to the University of Ladakh.
Secretary, Agriculture, Ladakh Shri Micheal D’ Souza informed the overview of the SKUAST and KVKs existing in UT Ladakh.
Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof SK Mehta informed that the University of Ladakh has initiated to establish a School of Agriculture in the University of Ladakh.
The HLG directed Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh to streamline the process of operating both SKUAST units and KVKs under the University of Ladakh within a stipulated time frame.
