 The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal presided over a meeting to assess the groundwork for the upcoming 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries, scheduled to be held in New Delhi. The meeting also provided a comprehensive overview of the targets and accomplishments of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
The meeting commenced with an insightful presentation of the preparations of the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries, detailing the progress made in attaining the goals set forth by the Ministries such as Land and Property; Electricity, Drinking Water; Jan Arogya Mandir (Health & Wellness Centers); and Schooling. The officers provided in-depth insights into the challenges encountered, and future strategies devised to propel the sustainable development agenda in the region.
The Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal reviewed the targets and achievements of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Ladakh. He underscored the importance of meticulous planning and effective implementation. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts, acknowledging the role of each department in contributing to the overarching goals of Viksit Bharat Sankalp.
Dr Pawan Kotwal stressed creating a streamlined and efficient system that enables schemes and initiatives to reach every corner of the region, leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of comprehensive service delivery. He stated good practices are the bedrock upon which the edifice of successful governance stands. It is our collective responsibility to embrace and embody these practices to ensure that the benefits of various schemes and initiatives percolate through the entire region, he added.
The meeting served as a platform for constructive dialogue, where challenges were identified, and solutions were sought collectively. It exemplified the commitment of the UT administration to fostering an environment of transparent governance and sustained development in Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department, UT Ladakh, Michael D’Souza; Deputy Commissioner of Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve; Director of Health Services; UT Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorje; Director of Tourism, UT Ladakh, Kunzes Angmo; Director of Finance, Dr Safdar Ali; Additional Secretary of Home, UT Ladakh Suman Beniwal; Deputy Director of Planning, Tsering Angdus; Deputy Director of Planning, Konchuk Gyalson, while the Principal Secretary of Industries & Commerce, H&UDD UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar; Commissioner/Secretary of Health & Medical Education Department, UT Ladakh, Dr Vasanthkumar Namasivayam; Commissioner/Secretary of Higher Education Department, UT Ladakh, Padma Angmo; Secretary of the Power Development Department, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar; Deputy Commissioner of Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Director of Foods & Supplies, UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain; Joint Director of Information, UT Ladakh Kacho Imteeaz Khan; and concerned officers of the Kargil district joined the meeting virtually.
