CEC Dr Jaffer visits under-construction site of Ladakh Bhawan at Dwarka, New Delhi

Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon on Wednesday visited the under-construction site of Ladakh Bhawan (Kargil Wing) at Dwarka, New Delhi and took an assessment of the pace of works.
Later, the CEC chaired a meeting attended by Superintending Engineer (SE) R&B Kargil , Executive Engineer SVD, Officers of CPWD including Superintending Engineer, Exen, AEE, JE and other concerned officers.
The CEC was informed that till this date the structure of ground floor and basement has been completed, further the construction work has reached up to the slab of the first floor.
The Officers from CPWD informed that the construction work is going on war footing basis and assured the CEC that by the end of 2024, the building will be handed over to the LAHDC Kargil.
CEC Dr Jaffer directed the concerned officers to continue the works on missionary spirit and aim for its early completion as it will provide relief for patients coming from Kargil to deal with health issues and will also benefit the other travellers, by having accommodation in New Delhi at affordable prices.
The CEC directed to start other works including electricity, water supply and sewerage system side by side.
Pertinently Ladakh Bhawan (Kargil Wing), which has been a long pending demand of the general public of Kargil, is proposed as a residential complex for the general public of Kargil who have to visit the national capital.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is entrusted with completing the said project at a cost of Rs 14.32 crores. The complex shall be a four storied building on the G+3 pattern with an underground parking space, two VIP Suites, twenty-four rooms, two dormitories, Kitchen, Conference Hall etc. Additional common parking space and public park with recreation for children is also available in the vicinity.
