Leh, Dec 04: Special Investigation Team (SIT) Narcotic Unit Leh today organized a comprehensive awareness program addressing the critical issue of drug menace and substance abuse at Govt. High School Housing Colony Leh.

The program garnered active participation from students and staff, emphasizing the importance of educating the community on the detrimental effects of drug addiction.

In his address, the In-Charge of the Narcotic Unit shed light on the multifaceted consequences of drug abuse, encompassing psychological, physical, and social aspects. The primary objective was to instill awareness about the symptoms, ill effects, and prevention of drug abuse, with a focus on empowering the youth with knowledge to make informed choices.

The program also aimed at educating students about the legal ramifications associated with substance abuse, providing a holistic understanding of the consequences beyond the immediate health impacts. By fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness, the SIT Narcotic Unit seeks to create a resilient community that actively rejects the scourge of drug abuse.

As part of the initiative, pamphlets containing vital information about the dangers of substance abuse were distributed among the students, serving as a handy resource for both students and their families.
