Kargil, Dec 02: Executive Councillor, Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain today conducted a comprehensive inspection of various government schools in Shargole and assessed their overall functioning.
The visit was aimed to evaluate and improve the educational scenario, underscoring a steadfast dedication to ensuring quality education accessible to all.
The EC was accompanied by Chief Education Officer, Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmad, Councilor Shargole Mohd Jawad Highland, ZEO Shargole Akbar Ali Khan and other concerned officers and officials.
The visit involved thorough inspections at educational institutions, underscoring the Council’s commitment to raising the standard of education in the region.
The schools covered during this tour included Govt. Higher Secondary School Shargole, Govt. Middle School Shargole, Govt. Middle School Chatithang, Govt. High School Wakha, Govt. Middle School Broklongma and Govt. Girls Middle School Wakha.
At Govt. Higher Secondary School Shargole, the EC interacted with the students. The EC also inspected the rented hostel building of the school and took assessment of the facilities.
At Govt. Middle School Shargole, the parents demanded subject specified teacher and electric poles for the school.
In response to the requests, the Executive Councilor assured them that their genuine demands would be promptly addressed in accordance with established norms.
At the Govt. High School, Wakha the school management demanded science teacher.
The other schools visited witnessed appeals for enhanced infrastructures, access to electricity, drinking water facilities, enhancement of the staff, etc.
While responding to the concerns, the Executive Councilor reassured them that the genuine demands will be fulfilled in due course of time.
He expressed concern over low enrollment in some schools, urging teachers and community members to collaborate on strategies to boost student enrollment. Emphasizing the importance of education, the EC called for collective efforts to enhance school enrollment and ensure a brighter future for students.
Meanwhile, the Executive Councilor also attended an event at Wakha, which was organized by the Islamia Welfare Association Wakha regarding the merger of two Government Schools and one Private School into a unified institution on Model Pattern. Notably, this is for the first in the district that a Private School is going to merge with Government School and it has happened only with the personal endeavor taken Councilor Mohd Jawad and the initiatives taken by the EC in the field of education in the district after assuming the charge of EC Education in 5th LAHDC Kargil.
While speaking on the occasion, EC said that the aim of the visit is to know the issues and problems faced at ground level in the education sector.
He also highlighted the efforts of LAHDC Kargil in the promotion of education in the district.
He also said it is the collective responsibility of all to work for the improvement of the education sector.
On the occasion, the CEO appreciated the efforts of the locals for the merger of the schools into a unified institution.
The Councilor Shargole also spoke on the occasion and thanked the EC for his visit in the zone. He applauded the efforts of the LAHDC for the promotion of the education in the district.
