Kargil, Dec 02: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today met Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, SP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Additional District Development Commissioner, (ADDC) Ganderbal, & Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), on his way to Srinagar.
During the meeting, the CEC raised various issues faced by the Kargil bound travellers during their travel to Kargil-Srinagar through Zojila Axis and vice versa, especially during winter months when the road condition allows restricted movements.
The CEC asked the Civil and Police Administration Ganderbal to allow the movement on Zojila Pass for maximum period of time being the lifeline of Ladakh and also asked to address the issues of Kargil bound stranded passengers on priority as they face enormous difficulties while travelling on Zojila Axis during restricted movements in bad weather conditions.
The SSP Ganderbal, Additional District Development Commissioner, (ADDC) and Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC) Ganderbal assured the CEC to provide all the logistic support and cooperation for smooth movement of traffic with their best coordination with District Administration Kargil.
The SSP, ADDC, and ADC Ganderbal also assured the CEC that the matter will also be taken with BEACON authorities to make the road traffic worthy for maximum period of time and convenient travel to Kargil bound passengers especially during harsh climatic conditions.
They also assured to address the grievances of the stranded passengers of Kargil during the winter months in close coordination with District Administration Kargil.
Later, the CEC Kargil thanked the officers and sought their coordination and support for smooth movement of traffic on Zojila axis especially during winter months.
