Leh, Dec 01: On the occasion of Rozgar Mela organized in select States and UTs across India, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed appointment letters to 51156 appointees during a virtual event.
The event in Ladakh was graced by Hon’ble Minister of State for Cooperation and DoNER, GoI BL Verma who presented 35 select candidates out of a total of 351 candidates their appointment letters at an event organised at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra in the presence of MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Advisor Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal, ADGP Ladakh Dr. S D Singh Jamwal, Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchuk and Administrative Secretaries. Officers of the UT Administration and members of civil society were also present on the occasion.
The Hon’ble MoS while addressing the gathering, congratulated all the new appointees and stated that empowering the youth of the nation sets the base for a developed and prosperous nation and that this is being ensured by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He further urged the appointees to ensure their dedication and hard work towards the building of a Viksit Bharat, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
Advisor Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal spoke of the processes initiated towards generating employment opportunities after Ladakh became a UT in 2019 and stated that with collective efforts from all concerned departments and stakeholders, the recruitment rules for non-gazetted posts of 47 departments have been successfully formulated while the process is underway for framing the Recruitment Rules for Gazetted Services. He further stated that the Administration of the UT of Ladakh expects the new appointees to make their wholehearted contribution towards the development of Ladakh.
MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal highlighted the various job opportunities made available for aspirants of Ladakh under different arrangements, with emphasis on prioritizing local Ladakhi youth, especially in the banking sector.
Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchuk termed the occasion historic and expressed his hope in more such appointments for the youth of Ladakh.
Administrative Secretary, Yatinder Maralkar presented the vote of thanks on the occasion. Subsequently, the Administrative Secretaries and HODs of the Administration of UT Ladakh presented appointment letters to the remaining candidates pertaining to their respective departments.
