Leh, Oct 23: The Commissioner Secretary of Technical Education & Skill Development/Social & Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh Padma Angmo concludes the Product Development Program for specially-abled individuals at People’s Action Group of Inclusion & Rights (PAGIR), Leh. The empowering initiative aimed to equip specially-abled individuals with creative skills in product design and provide them with the knowledge and expertise to craft high-quality market-ready products, including bags, diary covers, toys, and more, utilizing the available resources.
Commissioner Secretary Padma Angmo addressed the vital components of handcrafted products, including color coordination, branding, design thinking, and an unwavering dedication to quality. She underscored the paramount importance of quality and the continuous pursuit of excellence in all aspects of product development. Furthermore, she expressed her appreciation for the commitment of the specially-abled trainees.
The Commissioner Secretary extended her heartfelt congratulations to the trainees for successfully completing the training, and acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the designer Neeji Bansal and the trainer Jameel.
Director of the Social & Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh, Tashi Dolma, emphasized the program’s significance and the UT administration’s and department’s unwavering commitment to empowering and improving the lives of specially-abled individuals in Ladakh.
President of PAGIR Tsewang Dorje commended the designer, trainer, and trainees for their role in refining and tailoring the ideas proposed. He highlighted the importance of experiences and mentorship from experts in honing the trainees’ practical skills and knowledge.
Designer Neeji Bansal shared her experiences with the trainees, emphasizing the mutual learning and collaboration that enriched the training experience, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth for all participants.
Senior Accounts Officer of Technical Education & Skill Development, Stanzin Donsal; President PAGIR, Tsewang Dorjey; OSD of the Technical Education & Skill Development, Abied Hussain; and the trainees, along with PAGIR staff, were also present during the valedictory of the training program.
