Leh, Oct 19: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve, chaired a meeting today at the VC room to assess the ongoing progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Leh district.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Leh thoroughly reviewed the advancements of the Jal Jeevan Mission on a block-wise basis. He instructed the concerned officers to swiftly complete the certification process for Functional Household Tap Connections to ensure that every household in villages and blocks receives this essential service.
Additionally, DC Leh emphasized the need to reconcile revenue villages and maintain the high quality of work. He urged officers to ensure that all pending tasks are completed by the end of this month. Furthermore, he issued directives to update the JJM portal with the status of remaining villages and blocks, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Addressing the issues of six specific blocks and disputed areas, DC Leh stressed the importance of achieving a target of over 95% completion by the end of the month. He also instructed to organise training sessions for Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members.
In a final directive, Deputy Commissioner Leh urged to fill up the vacant post of District Team Leader (DTL) to ensure the effective implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Leh district.
The meeting was attended by CPO Leh; Superintending Engineer, PHE Leh; Executive Engineer, PHE Div. Leh and All Asstt. Executive Engineer’s of PHE Division. Besides, AEE’s of Nyoma/ Nubra and Khaltsi Sub Divisions also attended the meeting.
