21 police stations in J&K further strengthened with latest gadgets : DGP

: Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh on Wednesday said 21 police stations in Jammu and Kashmir have been further strengthened and provided with latest gadgets and other facilities to deal with the remaining terrorism, while 22 more police stations will be covered under this programme.
He said this while addressing the passing-out-cum-attestation parade in Sheeri area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
DGP said that training was important for police personnel and this year alone around 14,000 personnel have been imparted different training courses.
“Around 1800 personnel have been provided commando training and are deputed at operation and security duty at different places of J&K,” he said, adding that to augment the investigation resources of the force, around 799 police personnel have been provided investigation skill training besides cyber handling crime training have been given to 2500 personnel.
Singh said that with the joint efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces, peace was returning to Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha have time and again appreciated and acknowledged the work of the force which the DGP said has acted as a morale booster in fighting the enemies of peace.
“In changing circumstances we have been working day in and day out to realize terror-free Jammu and Kashmir,” Singh added.
The DGP said that J&K Police has started Operation Capacity Building and under this, 21 police stations have been further strengthened and provided with latest gadgets and other facilities to deal with the remaining terrorism.
“22 more police stations will be covered under this programme to ensure remaining terrorism is eliminated,” he added.
Singh expressed his pleasure over the recent survey & evaluation of work for different departments conducted by the Capacity Building Commission in which the Commission has appreciated the work of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The DGP said that efforts & commitment of JKP has been acknowledged by one & all in the nation.
He paid rich tributes to the fallen heroes of Jammu and Kashmir Police who have been part of the mission peace and sacrificed their lives for the cause.
Referring to the welfare measures, Singh said that a number of welfare initiatives have been taken up for the police personnel as also for the SPOs (Special police officers).
The DGP said two Border battalions and two Women battalions were recruited in the recent past which would respectively strengthen the security at borders and protect the rights of women.
