Leh, Oct 12: A delegation comprising members of Special Frontier Force (SFF) Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Leh led by Naib Subedar Tsultrim Gyatso (Retd); Director, Sainik Welfare Board, Col Lobzang Nima (Retd) and Chief Representative Officer (CRO) of Sonamling Settlement, Shri Dhondup Tashi called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas.
Shri Tsultrim informed that SFF, established in 1962, took part in various operations for the protection of the border areas of India. He also informed that SFF has no source of income and funds and requested financial assistance in constructing a committee hall, a kitchen and an office on the land provided at Agling with support from the UT Administration.
The HLG informed the delegates that he would instruct the Advisor to HLG to look into the matter for necessary action.
A delegation comprising officials from IndusInd Bank led by its Zonal Head, Shri Naresh Arora, called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
Shri Naresh informed the HLG that IndusInd has more than 2000 branches in 33 states/UTs of India and two branches in Leh and Kargil. He also informed that IndusInd Bank is among the top two private banks in India which are top lenders to the government’s Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency (MUDRA) Yojana, with ‘Shishu’, ‘Kishor’ and ‘Tarun’ as the initial products and schemes under this umbrella. He further informed about the Bharat Money Stores, launched in 2017 by Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd, a unit of IndusInd Bank to provide banking services to people locally and allow transactions such as cash deposits and withdrawals, utility bill payments, etc.
Shri Naresh proposed to fund development projects in Ladakh through the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the benefit of the people of the region. He also proposed to assist students of the University of Ladakh (UoL) with training and placements in relevant fields.
The HLG commended IndusInd Bank for their commendable service and stated that the UT Administration is committed to the welfare of the people of Ladakh. He also stated that IndusInd Bank can contribute to the developmental projects in Ladakh through their CSR activities for the overall benefit of the people of Ladakh.
