National Wildlife Week: Zanskar Forest Range organizes full day bird watching program

Kargil, Oct 09: On the 8th Day of National Wildlife Week, a full day bird watching program was organized on Sunday by Zanskar Forest Range, Kargil Forest Division under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer, Kargil, Mohd Ali.
The event was initiated at Sunny Lake and Stakringmo Zanskar, where many species of birds were witnessed by the students of Government High School Tungri.
Dr Abid Hussain, Assistant Professor Govt. Model Degree College Zanskar briefed about the species of birds with common name, scientific name and their habitat.
More than 15 students from Govt. High School Tungri, Zanskar along with incharge teacher and officials from Zanskar Forest Range participated in the event.
The event concluded at Forest Range Office Padum, where prizes and certificates were distributed among the meritorious students by the chief guest Dr Abid Hussain and guest of honour Stanzin Topgyal (teacher).
The Range Officer Zanskar highlighted the contribution of WWF for providing posters, handbooks and coaster of birds and animal of Ladakh among the students.
