Leh, Sept 18: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), flagged off the Kargil Rocketeers Ladakh Cycling Expedition 2023 from the Hall of Fame.

The concerned Army officials apprised HLG of the Cycling Expedition which was flagged off from Galwan on September 9 and will culminate at Kargil War Memorial in Drass. The officials informed the HLG that the cycling expedition has been organised to commemorate the 25th year of the victory of the Indian Army in Operation Vijay. They also informed that the Indian Army team taking part in the cycling expedition will cover 805 kilometres while passing through mountain passes such as K’Kongta La, Namika La and Photu La.

The officials informed the HLG that this Indian Army cycling team will pay homage to the Bravehearts of the Indian Army who sacrificed their lives for the security of the nation in the wars fought on the land of the Ladakh region in operations such as Operation Meghdoot and Operation Vijay.

The HLG praised the Indian Army for their bravery and nationalism. He stated that the Indian Army has played a pivotal role in national security and integrity. He commended the cycling team and asked them to keep up the good work.

The HLG also paid homage to the martyrs and laid a wreath at the War Memorial, Hall of Fame.
