Leh, Sept 12: The Leh Municipal department in line with the second edition of Indian Swachhata League (ISL 2.0) today organized a cleanliness campaign in Leh city with overwhelming participation from the general public.
Leh Chen Kings led by Hon’ble Chairman / CEC Ladakh Hill Development Council, Leh Adv. Tashi Gyalson got tremendous support from the NYK youth. Speaking on the occasion the CEC said that the cleanliness drive is part of the upcoming ISL 2.0 slated to commence from September 17th, 2023.
During the cleanliness drive waste material was collected from multiple locations including Leh city, Legacy Waste Management site, Leh and adjoining areas of the city. On the occasion CEC Tashi Gyalson said that the main focus of the cleanliness drive is on cleaning precious water bodies of the Leh besides ensuring a clean Leh, Ladakh.
On the occasion, the CEC along with all the participants embraced the Swachhata Pledge and urged upon all the fellow countrymen especially the youth to embrace the Swachhata Pledge and actively participate in the cleanliness drive to ensure a clean and pollution free atmosphere in Leh and other parts of the country.
