Jammu: District administration Jammu conducted ‘Dry Run’ of facilities at the spot registration centers being set up in the city to felicitate the devotees, during two month long Shri Amaranth ji Yatra, starting from July 1.
As per sources the administrative officers headed by magistrates and yatra nodal officers, conducted simultaneous exercise at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Ram Temple, Sarwasti Dham and Panchayat Bhawan , where the facilities like spot registration, medical checkup, RIFD tags and help desk remain approachable to the devotees round the clock. The administration also planned to set up an audio visuals room, which periodically flashes yatra related information including weather forecast and live darshan.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh said that Dry Run of all the facilities was conducted to know the practicality of the system.
“We today conducted the dry run of all facilities to know the exact timing, an average pilgrim required for registration. The calculations will help administration for crowd management and improve the efficiency of the system,” the ADC said.
He further added that the administration this time expects a huge crowd and all preparations are underway to welcome pilgrims. Meanwhile, SSP Railways Jammu,. Mohan Lal Kaith reviewed the security arrangements in connection with forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023.
Besides the officers of GRP Jammu, officers from Railway department, Army, RPF, CRPF and Intelligence agencies also attended the meeting.
The main focus and thrust of the meeting was to strengthen the overall security setup of Railway station Jammu.
The officers present in the meeting gave valuable suggestions and feedback on the issues pertaining to the security of Railway station Jammu.
It was unanimously decided that all agencies shall work in close coordination to foil any attempt of ANEs to create any kind of sabotage at Railway station Jammu during the Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The officers were directed to brief the men to compassionately deal with the Yatris and render all kind of help to them during Yatra period.
It was decided to establish help desks for the yatris to facilitate them to reach the nearest Yatra Bhawan. It was also decided that stringent security measures are required to beef up the security domination at Railway station Jammu during the yatra time.
GRP and RPF officers were directed to intensify the patrolling at the railway platform areas and other sensitive areas of Railway station Jammu to ensure that nothing untoward incident happens during the Yatra period.
