LEH: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday ordered a massive inter-cadre reshuffle of IAS and IPS officers including many from the union territory of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Saugat Biswas, Divisional Commissioner of Ladakh since 2018, has been transferred and posted to Arunachal Pradesh. Similarly, Lakshay Singhal, IAS 2019 has been posted out to New Delhi. Singhal was looking after the charge of Executive Director SIDCO (Ladakh) and Handlooms and Handicrafts as its Joint Director.
With the two officers moving out, Ladakh also got three new officers including two IAS and one IPS officers.
Amit Sharma, an IAS officer of 2012 batch, currently Secretary Mining in Jammu and Kashmir has been posted out to Ladakh, along with Michael M Dsouza, an IAS officer of 2015 batch, who has been transferred from Goa to Ladakh.
Similarly, Shruti Arora, an IPS officer of 2018 batch, has been transferred from Chandigarh to Ladakh.
This round of reshuffle comes a day after transfer of S D S Jamwal, Additional DGP Security, Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh as head of the police force in that Union Territory. He replaced Satish Sriramji Khandare who has proceeded on deputation to the Border Security Force.
Earlier on Friday, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Umang Narula was transferred out of the region, while the second most senior bureaucrat in the cold desert, Principal Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal was appointed as the new Advisor to Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
In the latest order involving reshuffle of 32 IAS and 27 IPS officers, several officers from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories have also been moved.
Sagar D. Dattatray, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara in north Kashmir has been shifted to the Union Territory of Daman, Dieu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, while as Mohita Sharma, IPS, currently SP Ramban, has been moved to New Delhi.
Saurabh Mishra, IAS 2015 batch, and Anuj Kumar, IPS 2016 batch, have been transferred from Dadra and Nagar Haveli to Jammu and Kashmir.
