KARGIL: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) along with the representative of Supreme Leader of Iran, Hujjatul Islam Aga Sheikh Mehdi Mehdivapur inaugurated the Office of the Hajj Committee Ladakh at Kargil.
Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan, Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Chairman Haj Committee Ladakh, M Ali Majaz were present on the occasion.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Office of the Hajj Committee Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor said that the building would mark a momentous occasion in the developmental journey of Ladakh.
“Earlier, the people of Ladakh willing to perform Hajj had to test their luck. But now, we have our own Haj Committee and today, we have our own Haj Committee office as well. This year, applications of all the applicants were accepted and they will all be performing Haj this year,” he said.
