JAMMU: Waseem Ahmad Bhat, Parsanjeet Kour and Nittin Singh from Jammu and Kashmir have secured top ranks in the Civil Services examinations 2022, the results of which were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday.

A total of eight candidates from Jammu and Kashmir have qualified the prestigious examination.

While Waseem, Parsanjeet and Nittin have secured rank 7, rank 11 and rank 32, respectively, Naved Ahsan Bhat has secured rank 82, Manan Bhat rank 231, Manil Bejotra rank 314, Irfan Choudhary rank 476, and Nivranshu Hans has obtained rank 811.

Waseem, a resident of Anantnag in Kashmir valley, had earlier  secured 225th position in the Civil Services Examination 2020. A civil engineer from NIT Srinagar, Waseem sat in the examination once again and has managed to make it to the top 10, this year.

Of the selected candidates, Parsanjit Kour, Nittin Singh, Manan Bhat, Irfan Choudhary and Nivranshu Hans have already qualified the Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS), and are currently on probation.

As many as 933 candidates have been recommended for their appointment to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

The main examination was held in September 2022 and the Personal Interviews were held in January 2023.
