Srinagar: National Conference (NC) president and member of parliament, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that his party will never run away from polls in Jammu and Kashmir and will contest every election.
Talking to reporters, Dr Farooq, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that they are hopeful that the G-20 meeting in Srinagar would pave the way for the arrival of foreign tourists in J&K.
“Kashmir is famous for tourism, but since the militancy erupted, the foreign tourists are not visiting J&K. We hope that this event will help to pave the way for foreign tourists to visit J&K again,” he said, adding that the delegates of different countries are visiting here for tourism purposes
Asked about the statements made by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Dr Farooq said, “Manoj Sinha will also go back like Satya Pal Malik . It is we who have to live here. They say what they say and let them say what they say,” he said.
Asked about assembly polls in Jammu & Kashmir, Dr Farooq said that the elections have to be conducted in the Union Territory and NC will never run away from the polls be it Panchayat, BDC, DDC or assembly elections.
