Kargil: Every section of the society needs to come together and join hands to make the world better to live in, said Lieutenant Governor Brigadier BD Mishra as he stressed for local cooperation to address the social issues prevalent in Ladakh.
Lieutenant Governor was speaking at an Iftar party he had hosted for people from different communities at Kargil on Monday night.
At the outset, the LG spoke of the significance of the ongoing auspicious month of Ramzan and extended his warm wishes to everyone.
“We need every section of the society to come together and join hands to make this world a better place to live in for us and our coming generations,” said the Lieutenant Governor.
Mishra emphasised the need for a joint effort from every section of society to address various social issues.
“We need to actively contribute to the fight against drug abuse and corruption in Ladakh, as well as to make genuine efforts towards water conservation,” the LG appealed.
Meanwhile, LG Mishra visited Sankoo, where he interacted with public delegations and also inspected the facilities at Community Health Centre.
Mishra interacted with various public delegations & gave a patient hearing to their grievance. Councillor Sankoo,
SA Rizvi & PRI members of Sankoo raised various issues concerning the area pertaining to health, education, Infra & other sectors.
The LG informed that the Ladakh Administration is dedicated to ensuring sufficient infrastructure and essential facilities at the grassroots level.
Additionally, he revealed plans to establish committees to conduct studies aimed at improving and expanding various key sectors, such as health, education, police and administrative units.
At Community Health Centre, Sankoo, Mishra assessed the available facilities and functioning of the Hospital.
He interacted with the patients and inquired about the requirements at the hospital in terms of additional facilities.
Lieutenant Governor Brigadier BD Mishra, it may be mentioned, is on a visit to Kargil since Saturday. During the visit, the LG has been taking a detailed review of various developmental works in the district, besides visiting various locations of Kargil to have a first-hand experience of the issues and problems faced by the locals there, and understanding the aspirations and expectations of the people.
