Leh: The authorities has rescheduled the Physical Standard and Endurance Test for engagement as Traffic Marshals to Wednesday, 12 April.
“Interested candidates are required to report for Physical Standard and Endurance Test at District Police Line Choglamsar on Wednesday, April 12,” the District Employment and Counselling Centre said in a notice on Monday, adding that the candidates must bring with a filled application form and their documents and the reporting time is 10 am.
With the onset of the tourist season, the District Administration Leh last week invited applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of 20 Traffic Marshals for the district on contractual and seasonal basis, to help better manage the traffic flow in the town.
The Traffic Marshalls will act as a bridge between Traffic Police and community for better understanding of local and general traffic problems and would monitor and regulate the traffic movement in Leh District, said the District Employment and Counselling Centre in a notification.
The other duties included reporting irregularities and violation of the traffic rules; Deployment for management of crowd as and when required by District Administration during festivals, State Functions, Examinations etc; and outdoor duties with Traffic Police personals in traffic regulation at least for 8 hours a day.
There are a total of 20 vacancies and the selected candidates would be paid a Monthly Honorarium of Rs 17250.
Their age must be between 18 to 40 years, while minimum education qualification is 8th Standard. Candidates having NCC and Scouts and Guides estates would be given preference. In order to reduce transportation & ease of duty, candidates residing in nearby location will also be preferred.
