Leh: In another show of proactive governance, Lieutenant Governor Brigadier B D Mishra has discuss possible administrative interventions regarding the issues and requests put forth by various public and private delegations who met him over the past weeks.

In a meeting with the departmental secretaries, the LG sough the possible plan of action and interventions in solving the grievances of the Daily Rated Workers across various Departments of Ladakh.

A delegation of daily wagers, casual, ad-hoc and consolidated workers working in different departments of Ladakh have raised the issue with the LG, besides the issue of honorarium and salaries being paid to them.

The LG inquired about the issues related to the irrigation canal at Tyakshi. Commissioner Secretary, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, informed the LG about the steps being taken to tap the potential of the lift irrigation project at Tyakshi.

He also informed that the feasibility of the revival of 32 defunct canals at Tyakshi is also being examined. He also informed about the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission to make potable drinking water accessible to all the people, including those living in remote villages.

The LG asked about the delay in the implementation of the lift irrigation scheme at Karkitchoo in Kargil and also issues related to the lift irrigation scheme at Sodh block in Kargil.

Sahu informed the LG about measures being taken for the lift-irrigation schemes at Karkitchoo and Sodh, and the LG instructed the concerned department to look into the matter on priority.

Commissioner Secretary, Padma Angmo, informed the LG about the preparation of the final draft of the Ladakh Disability Rules.

The LG also inquired about the rise in the number of flu symptoms among children in Ladakh, besides the drinking water issue at Sankoo.

Principal Secretary, Sanjiv Khirwar, Additional Deputy General of Police (ADGP), Ladakh Police, Satish Khandare, Secretaries, Ravinder Kumar, Mehboob Ali Khan, Yetindra Maralkar, Deputy Commissioner Leh Shrikant Suse, and officials from concerned departments were present in the meeting.
