Leh: Department of Commerce, EJM College Leh in collaboration with Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), held a one-day workshop on the Investor Awareness Program on the topic ‘Basics of Capital Market’ today.
Giving a brief introduction to the Basics of investment and depository service, resource person Inderjeet Singh, Manager CDSL- IPF, talked about the role of CDSL in the Capital Market. He highlighted topics like DEMAT Account, KYC, and do’s and don’ts of investing in the stock market.
He further shared about investment opportunities in the Capital market and created awareness of topics, including mutual funds, equity, bonds, etc. He provided valuable insights into the basic principles of these services. “By understanding the different investment and depository services available, investors can make informed decisions about how to manage their financial assets”, he said.
Earlier, Assistant Professor Manzoor Hussain, Head Department of Commerce, felicitated the guest with traditional khataks, which was followed by a welcome speech by Thinlas Chondol, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.
In the end, Assistant Professor Jigmat Yangdol presented the vote of thanks. Sonam Angmo, B.Com student in the 6th semester hosted the event.
